Changing the restrictions on bear baiting from 200m to 30m from trails or road ways I believe is totally irresponsible. If anything they should increase the distances or make baiting illegal altogether. Decreasing the distances will put hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts at risk of a bear encounter or possibly getting shot by a stray bullet.
I also believe it gives hunters an unfair advantage and baiting already takes what little sport there is out of hunting.
