Conservation Authorities in Ontario have taken on powers that were never given to them in the first place. Their mandate was to protect public lands, infrastructure and water systems. They should not have any jurisdiction over private property and the rights of those property owners.
It is imperative that this government do a complete overhaul of Conservation Authorities and what their mandate should be and at the same time ensure that private property owners rights are protected. We all know that we have so much red tape in the hands of government ministries and government agencies that they are now stifling economic growth and development.
