write to express my concern about the gravel pit and quarry proposed at Rt. 7 and the Sixth Line
Road. I worry that inadequate study has been done on the possible deleterious effects of such a
venture: contamination of groundwater and other environmental damage; the diminishing of quality of
life for nearby residents from dust and noise pollution; danger from increased traffic on Rt 7;
damage to property (cracked foundations and the like) from vibration and the altering of the
geological environment surrounding the site; and the reduction in property values and resulting
decrease in assessments and tax revenues.
I see no advantage for the township of Guelph-Eramosa in this venture and urge you to consider
very, very carefully if it should go ahead and with what controls if it does.
Thank you.
