I am opposed the the proposed Quarry EBR Registry number 011-8511. As a member of the Concerned Residents Coalition in Rockwood, Ontario there are many reasons why I am opposed. My main concern however would be our water source. As such a precious commodity and necessary to sustainable life I feel that James Dick Construction should NOT be allowed to blast below the water table level so close to residences and the water supply system. I of course have many other concerns but none come to as much importance as our source of life in which I feel that James Dick Construction has so far failed to prove that he will never contaminate during the 20+ years he plans on desecrating the proposed site. He has done a good job of keeping his property and intentions a secret while the city moves to the peaceful community (Rockwood) and now here we all sit concerned that our days of appreciating the wildlife and quiet are numbered. And I could cry NIMBD all day long however nothing comes to more concern than WATER. It's time to make a difference in the lives of the residents, after all would you want a Blasting Quarry so close to your home? NO HIDDEN QUARRY PERIOD. Our water is precious, our water is clean and pure. Take the dynamite, the oil dripping trucks, the accidental spills, the leaching of heavy metals, the broken aquifers away from our water table.
