Thank you for considering the reduction in minimum distance for Bear baiting.
Although there should not be a minimum distance restriction at all.
If a bait is set to close to a used roadway or trail the effectiveness of the bait for hunting purposes is very limited and impractical. There is already a law stating how far from a roadway a firearm can be used. This law should be enough to cover the concerns of a bait distance.
Therefore the bait distance restriction is the answer to a question that is irrelevant.
Thank you also for bringing back and maintaining the spring bear hunt as it is a very effective game management tool and a great source of income for everyone involve.
