I have already voiced my opposition to EBR number 012-8124. My comments essentially all apply to this file. Briefly, a cement plant is not allowed in the UCPR official plan and municipal zoning. The area is a built up highly desirable residential area on the Ottawa river. Allowing this project to go through is political suicide at all levels of government that will trigger many class action law suits. We will not allow a second heavy polluter in this zone. The UCPR official plan was just recently revised following public consultations and approved by the Ontario Municipal Board and we should not be stressed with having to defend ourselves against this project. The area is residential and agricultural and must remain that way. We were here first! Should a second heavy polluter be allowed to operate where they want, then, the area is no longer residential and agricultural, it becomes heavy industrial. Residences and agri land should be bought out at actual market value within a radius of at least 5 km due to this trespassing. There is lots of land surely available within Prescott-Russell that would be more suitable, so look for it. Thanks. I hope your wisdom will prevail.by rejecting the demands.
