Reducing the minimum distance from roadways will increase safety. Many times I have slipped/tripped entering the bush with heavy loads. I have not yet experienced serious injury, but, I can see it happening.
I also hunt an area with a very windy roadway passing through it. In order to be 200meters from the road I currently have to travel 0.675km through thick bush.
Recovery will also be a much safer experience as hunters will not be faced with such an extreme distance to haul their harvest of hundreds of pounds.
30 meter distance will maintain safety for both road users and hunters, as hunters take to the woods to participate in Ontario’s bear management.
