It is very important for individual conservation authorities to have the flexibility to develop and enforce regulations that are appropriate for their own individual watershed. Each authority has its own particular conditions, and these must be recognized in development control.
It is essential to maintain existing protections for wetlands. If any changes are being contemplated, then strengthening the wetlands protections would be preferred. Southern Ontario has lost far too many wetlands already. It is essential that remaining wetlands be preserved, restored and enhanced.
