Having read the documentation, I have strong reasons to believe that, contrary to Colacems statements, used water discharged by the Cement Plant in the Charlebois creek towards the Ottawa River will contain serious amount of cadmium and other heavy metals. This could seriously pollute the Ottawa River and constitute a very serious public health threat to the population who use the water from the Ottawa River for drinking water. We believe that heavy metals are not filtered by Municipal Water Stations downstream or by many residents own water treatment system for their drinking water. In addition, the heavy metals would also constitute a major threat to the wildlife of the Ottawa and Ste-Laurence Rivers. Moreover, cumulative effects from Ivaco Still Mill and the quarry might have a cumulative effect on this matter.
