As a Resident of the area that will be adversely affected by the particulate and other air pollutants that will be emitted from the proposed cement plant, I am extremely worried about the environmental and health risks of this venture. It is too close the Ottawa River, prime agricultural land and residences. We residents and our ecosystem already have to cope with the huge Ivaco Rolling Mills Plant on our doorstep. The US EPA has sited the cement industry as the third worst industrial polluter. The plant should be located in a much more remote and less populated area away from major water systems. We citizens have entrusted the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change with the protection of the environment in which we all have to live. PLEASE DO YOUR JOB AND DENY THIS PROPOSAL.
