I urge you not to pass…

I urge you not to pass legislation that will force municipalities to choose between parks OR other urban infrastructure. Parks are infrastructure! A growing body of research (https://www.evergreen.ca/tools-publications/) is available (for those who believe in fact based decision making) that clearly supports the human health benefits from exposure to natural systems such as parks. This proposed legislation will benefit land developers and might minimally reduce the cost of housing but it will impoverish future communities and adversely affect the physical, mental and social health of those who have to live in them.
