The only benefit of this act is to developers. Communities and municipalities will struggle. People need open space, public space, park space and these needs will be difficult to address when the choice is between parkland and developing other amenities and infrastructure. With high density development rightfully on the rise, this is the time to secure open space for current and future generations as it leads to happy and HEALTHY communities. As a landscape architect I fear a future where public space is not a guarantee. People have the right to open space, to recreation and this will greatly hinder that right. We should be aiming for smart sustainable development, not development that makes the most profit for developers. If these spaces are not provided, general health of communities will decline. Parkland is a crucial part of development and should not be optional or a choice when developing communities

Further the government is bringing very little attention to these proposed changes that will have great impact in communities. Munipalies hardly had any time to provide comment.

Stand up for the communities and the peopl, not for development companies
