The CRB needs to remain as part of the appeals process. Much cheaper and more efficient to work with this group, rather than LPAT which lacks expertise in Heritage sector.
Democratically elected municipal council supported by experienced and trained staff and advised by multidisciplinary Municipal Heritage Committee is better resourced to make decisions than an unelected LPAT appeal board not familiar with issues unique to Northern Ontario.
Consultation with heritage sector needs to be part of the process before regulations are introduced. Remove Section 11 from Bill 108 before bill s passed. You will learn current regulatory process is Meeting the needs of the community.
