What is the real point of this reduction?
To make it easier for hunters? It certainly isn't to encourage the recreational user of trails and rights of way.
What about those of us who use the trails who don't want to be exposed to any bait which is likely to bring bears in closer?
Are bear hunters actually so lazy that they cannot walk a few hundred meters to put their bait out? Is the hunting industry so tainted that baiting is a good thing at all? What happened to fair play? It's like shooting fish in a barrel. What a big man it takes to shoot a bear feeding at a bait station (sarcasm!)
It is absolutely ridiculous that this proposal has actually been put forward. If the current restrictions are unclear then re-write them to make the clearer but do not reduce the current minimums.
