The proposal to ban/pull deer rehab licences in areas with CWD will backfire. People will simply rehab deer underground, which could spread disease faster. Instead, allow rehabs to rehab deer from CWD affected areas with seperation of animals from non affected areas during rehab and release. Masks, full suits, afoot and hand washes, and gloves would be mandated. Deer from affected areas would be released within affected areas. No animal or staff mixing would happen in a licensed rehab. Already many rehabs rehab vector species of other infectious and even zoonotic diseases without incident.
