Please do not use culling as a control. CBD is not infectious to humans. There is a humane alternative to lethal testing RAMALT, that does not involve killing the animal. Shooting of deer in urban areas puts everyone at risk. It also creates psychological trauma for witnesses. Read more

My very basic question is: why does MNR still allow the baiting of deer in Ontario when virtually all surrounding jurisdictions have banned baiting for many reasons noted below but specifically to address the saliva transfer of CWD? There seems to be no logical or scientific reason for this? Read more

The proposal to ban/pull deer rehab licences in areas with CWD will backfire. People will simply rehab deer underground, which could spread disease faster. Instead, allow rehabs to rehab deer from CWD affected areas with seperation of animals from non affected areas during rehab and release. Read more
