A long time (>20 years) cottager on Dickey Lake, my intent is to retire there, because of the clean air and pristine environment. The woods abound with wildlife and it is a beautiful trout lake, which the Ministry has previously stocked. To think of destroying such a beautiful site, with an open pit mine is a travesty to humanity! Has the Ministry of the Environment learned nothing from the recent past? They are still paying clean up crews to recover the Deloro mine mess and its surrounding area, not 40 miles away. They even created a documentary film to remind us of the dangers of such ruthless mining. No one should contemplate ruining a perfect ecological area such as this, for corporate greed!
