I do not understand how you can cut conservation authority flood funding in half and then turn around and say we need to focus on our core mandate. Please tell me how this makes sense? The world we live in is changing every day for the worse with climate change and your telling conservation authorities they need to speed up their timelines for approvals? This is a joke. CA's are protecting people and big developers from building in floodplains and losing all of their investments to floods. Maybe timelines can be met at a faster rate if the government provides more than 2% percent funding to CA's so we can hire more staff to accommodate the work load. And, with this being said I do not understand how you have the nerve to say we are not to have extra programs such as hosting weddings to create more funds that we lack from you. Ontario will be a complete disaster if you do not take the time to realize just how important CA's are to our environment because if we destroy that what do we have left? Perfect example.. the flood this year in cottage country (Bracebridge area) happened as a result of having NO conservation authority! I urge you to consider the importance of conservation authorities and how the newly proposed changes will have detrimental effects on our enlivenment and people.
