We have witnessed for the past ten years the destruction of areas on the ecologically sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine by the dumping of fill from construction sites. These sites contain proven toxic soil that are continually poisoning the aquifers that supply the surrounding wells, not to mention the rivers and streams that serve as habitat for numerous wildlife and vegetation.
We are sickened by the moral bankruptcy and lack of governmental responsibility on all levels (federal, provincial, municipal). Each in turn blaming the other siting loopholes in regulations, which were intentionally placed to support the construction industry. The verbal defecation spewing from the mouths of our politicians is fooling no one and is the source behind apathetic voter turnout.
