I am writing to support Flag resources and their permit for exploring on their property in Mackelcan Township.
Exploration in this province has lead to many mines being developed and tens of thousands of high paying jobs being created in the province. The spinoff of indirect jobs created from one mining job is in the area of 7 to 1 (indirect to direct). This is huge for the welfare and economy of not only northern ontario but to the rest of the province as well.
Many people don't realize how heavily regulated the exploration and mining business is in the province when it comes to such things as environment, health and safety and first nations consultation processes. Having worked elsewhere in this country and overseas in the exploration and mining business, i can confidently say that Ontario is second to none when it comes to ensuring that compliance is observed when developing a mineral resource.
I am born and raised in northern Ontario and currently live about 70km from this property. I hope the government will show the necessary leadership when considering this application and allow the exploration to proceed on Flag Resource's Mackelcan township property.
