Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing in strong support of the Flag Resources (1985) Ltd.'s mineral exploration permit in Mackelcan Township. This area has played an integral part in the economy and livelihoods of many people over many decades and as such is critical to the regional economy at all levels.

As a scientist, I believe exploration must be permitted on valid mining leases and claims without unreasonable delays or unreasonable conditions, provided the obligations of the Mining Act are met.

Denying such an application would have a markedly deleterious effect on the mining exploration industry in all of Canada, and create a harmful example for environmental activists to emulate elsewhere in the Province where exploration should be allowed.

The radical environmental lobby group which is flooding the ERO website with comments opposing the permit is attempting to utilize false science to make it appear as though mining exploration is harmful when what is harmful is the loss of revenue leading to a lowered standard of living which would occur as a consequence of interference in the issuance of the permit required to allow the mining exploration to ensue without let or hindrance.

The radical environmentalists attempting to obstruct the usual and customary constructive mining activities in this region have offered no substantial or substantiable evidence why the permit should not go through. Rather than reasonable facts, on the other hand, their objections are predicated upon emotional arguments and without objective and reasoned or logical thinking.

Canada already faces mounting debt largely as a consequence of restriction of extractive industry, particularly on her west coast where radical environmentalists with this identical mindset have largely destroyed the economy without a shred of benefit.

There is no civilization without responsible extractive industry. It is the backbone of Canada's economy and has been since before Confederation and further damage to it will only result in rising debt and a lower standard of living for all of this nation's citizens.
