It appears that the MNRF is taking a step backwards in providing permits for aggregate extraction. Most of this overrides the Municipalities which also have by laws in place. It also appears that those people who have cottages near these "pits" have no say in operation hours, amount extracted or noise pollution. If it was in the name of progress then people could live with it. But, it seems that the only thing that concerns the MNRF and the extractors is money. Greed prevails common sense.
