No extraction should be allowed within the water table. Should be enforced by Municipalities and Gov. of Ontario.
Environmental concerns should trump extraction.
Haul Routs should be determined by local municipalities. They know the community and concerns. No Haul Routs in any populated areas i.e. villages, town. Main hwy. only.
The Gravel Industry do not pay very much for hauling on roads funded by general tax payers. This should be reviewed and changed. Our roads are beaten up by this industry.
Rehabilitation of pits is sadly lacking. The industry needs to be accountable.
