This reduction of burden is great; however, this can and should be an ongoing process.

Currently beavers cost business and gov't millions of dollars per year in repairs to infrastructure due flooding, plugging culverts, release of water flow (dams breaking), etc.. The current legislation only allows for a licensed trapper to remove beavers, which can be problematic when the furs have no value or timing is outside normal trapping season. Manitoba has this same legislation but allows for the next step where Conservation Officers (MNRF) can issue a permit to anyone to remove a beaver when infrastructure is being compromised. Ontario needs to adopt a sensible solution to help.
