I do not support any legislation that will make it easier for polluters to continue polluting. This new Bill 132 looks like it will reduce fines to polluting businesses and reduce the motivation for such businesses to change their behaviour in the long term. This is incredibly shortsighted and disguising such a Bill as good for the people and the environment is typical of this government’s tactics. What is best for businesses cannot be the main goal when the preservation of the environment is in play. Again, this approach is incredibly short sighted, especially now, with the health of the planet at such risk.
