In light of today's global concerns surrounding climate change, the province of Ontario is in dire need for stronger, not weaker, environmental protections. Species at risk are being disregarded for the profit of large corporations. My husband and I live in a beautiful rural community where the wetlands and turtle habitat are at risk of destruction at the hands of an aggregate quarry. These endangered species cannot speak from themselves, it is our duty to protect their habitat. There are already two other quarries in the immediate area of this proposed site, we surely don't need another at the cost of killing an endangered species studied at the site.
