The implementation of tools to allow communities to comment and participate in new or expanding aggregate extraction sites is positive. It is very important for municipalities to protect the aquifer from possible sources of contamination as many draw from these for their potable water and also to protect municipal assets such as roads from new or additional loadings due to haulage.
