Hello,
The Township of Essa has concerns for public participation, impact on agricultural lands and as well, water and wells of neighbours surrounding aggregate/proposed agg operations. We support development but not at a cost to residents and neighbours with concerns for water quality and quantity.
Extraction below the water table is a concern and we would like to ensure good circulation to enable those impacted with an opportunity to comment and express their concerns. Balance of interests is important to us.
Would not want to allow extraction in environmentally sensitive areas or areas where source water lies. Please do not lower standards for examining impacts on water.
We believe in proper site plans which are circulated to the municipality for comment.
We would like to review and have input on rehabilitation plans and trucking matters.
