It is good to see these changes. This will definitely speed the process up but as a farmer that has taken the Ontario pesticide course since they started I have concerns. Most farmers and instructors have agreed with me that the course basics since it began have not changed. I feel as a responsible pesticide user it seems like it is a way for the government to get our money every 5 years. I do agree with new farmers need to take the course because the first time I took it I learned a lot. My argument is that nobody pays me for my time sitting in class every 5 years and my time is worth more to me than the 100.00 it costs to take that that course. Farmers are not incnsiderent irresponsible people and I wish the government would stop treating us like we are. We grow food for the country in a save responsible way we are not south America or China. Thank you for this. Please feel free to release this for all farmers to read.
