There are hundreds of truckers that have gone bankrupt over emissions system failures. Many people have chosen to delete the system to make their trucks profitable again. They are not criminals for trying to provide for their families. I understand that we all like clean air but some of the chemicals produced during the regeneration process, unless it's working in an absolutely perfect condition, are even worse for you that going without it all together. We should be focusing on fuel economy instead. Also carbon credits should be available for purchase to those that decide to delete the systems. Very easy to determine a price as all that would need to be done would be the emission test. Determine the difference between what it is emitting and the amount that it should be emitting and buy credits for the difference.
