To Whom it may Concern:

In response to this proposal, the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) created a report titled, The OBOA Solution. This report includes a number of recommendations that would improve the safety of Ontarians and ensure that the building industry continues to grow.

The OBOA Solution addresses sector-wide challenges, provides clarity to the industry, attracts and trains talent and ensures ongoing public trust. The recommendations build on the OBOA’s existing infrastructure and capacity, but do not require additional funding.

The province faces an acute housing shortage, now is the time to tackle these problems, not down the road. The OBOA remains committed to working in partnership with the province and we look forward to your response.
