Attached are answers to questions posed via the discussion paper.
The Town of Wasaga Beach is supportive of the governments efforts to modernize building code service delivery.
With regards to technical sessions that are occurring, participation by building officials should not be controlled by the OBOA as not all municipalities are actively engaged through the OBOA. Some, and in particular, Wasaga Beach are missing these sessions and it is unfortunate. The ministry should be coordinating attendance and participation by building officials, not the OBOA.
It would be helpful if the ministry released a gantt chart identifying the major milestones of the consultation so municipal sector, as well as industry professionals, could allocate time in their schedules.
The attached Q&A was presented at Committee of the Whole at the Town of Wasaga Beach on November 19, 2019.
