Please take my concerns seriously;

1) Bill 132 would set back the efforts of citizens who have been working for years to protect our waterways from pollution. Members of our London Chapter of the Council of Canadians have joined OPAL, Oxford People Against The Landfill, Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00, for years, to protest Walker Environmental from dumping mid-level Toronto waste into the Beachville Quarry. The Quarry is next to the headwaters of the Thames River, upstream from London, and upstream from Lake St. Clair and the source of our drinking water. Ingersoll has the right to say no, as do other municipalies.

2) Bill 132 would set back the efforts of citizens who oppose aggregate mining below the water table - communities such as North Dumfries - in order to protect their aquifer from contamination.

3) Bill 132 would prevent communities from deciding on haul routes - communities know which roads are vulnerable, how much dust is thrown up, and what it is like to live on a road with dump trucks going back and forth all day.

4) Bill 132 would remove the ban on bee-killing pesticides - much of our diet relies upon the health of bees which pollinate our plants.

5) Bill 132 would change the fine on polluters from a daily fine to a one time fine - corporations can just pay the fine and drag things on and on to get their way. A high daily fine is the only way to stop them from polluting and make them pay for the cleanup.

6) Bill 132 would open the door for greedy corporations to exploit the natural resources of Ontario at the expense of humans and wildlife. It does not protect the waterways and the environment - it does the opposite.
