This bill is completely outrageous and undemocratic in the way that it is being rushed through the legislature with only 30 days of comment period and having a vote before the public comment period has ended. I guess this government really listens to 'the people', or rather only certain people, i.e. those in industry, development, aggregate extraction, mining, etc.

I have only just become aware of the huge number of changes this bill proposes to all kinds of statutes that affect the environment and human health and so I don't have time to respond to each section of act.

I will just say that I fully endorse the Environmental Defence submission and that this government should rethink these changes that will negatively affect this province's environment and its residents for decades. The bill should be withdrawn until adequate consultation with municipalities, indigenous communities, and the general public has been completed. If there is a need to rush this through without such consultation, it can only mean that the government knows it would not be popular with Ontarians.
