As a small business in the wood manufacturing sector employing 6 people, we would like to see support in the strategy for clustering ecosystems, specifically the Bluewater Wood Alliance (BWA). We have been actively participating members for 4 years and have found it to be extremely valuable.
It is very powerful, to be able to come together with dozens of other like-minded business owners and/or managers, and tackle the same issues and problems that we are all challenged with and face on a daily basis, in a non-competitive and collaborative environment.
In addition, the educational seminars and plant tours that the BWA arrange can yield previously unnoticed insights that lead to savings of thousands through increased productivity making us more competitive and able to expand, and in turn creating more jobs.
Please look closer at this model and the benefits that it produces for many Ontario businesses in the wood sector.
