The business I own, Upper Canada Stretchers Inc. has been a member of the Bluewater Wood Alliance for over 6 years now. In that time, the BWA has been an important source of training for several of my staff. This training has helped our productivity and profitability in measurable ways. We've had two important production challenges (clamping system and CNC layout) that led us to bring in a BWA consultant for advice. They worked with us to come up with solutions that saved us space, time and money. The monthly interactions we have with other members of the BWA have also proven to be an important part of our being able to grow our business. This networking has even brought us new business. I can't stress the importance of having a community of business owners working together to solve our common challenges. The BWA is a very well managed organization that facilitates this cooperation and that provides many Ontario wood manufacturing businesses critical training and support.
