I would recommend that any changes to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act give priority to the safeguarding of biodiversity, to minimization of the scope of habitat destruction and to rigorous protection of species at risk. Many Ontario species are currently in rapid decline if not already defined as being at risk. The impending adverse consequences of catastrophic climate change as well as political interference in determining species at risk make it all the more imperative to prioritize environmental considerations over all other concerns.
