RE: Support for ERO# 019-1020, Proposed Changes to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, 1994
Dear Mr. Anthony:
As a forestry worker, I wish to comment on the Proposed Changes to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (CFSA), Environmental Registry of Ontario number 019-1020.
To insure the viability of our communities, and environment we must continue the responsible develop our crown forests guided by the principles of sustainability. With an economic impact of half a billion dollars, annually, sustainable forestry is major contributor to the socio-economic well-being of Ontario.
The CFSA provides landscape, stand, and site-level direction for managing, conserving, and protecting species at risk. Having two acts attempting to accomplish the same outcome represents unnecessary red tape. Our government can improve the effectiveness of the species at risk policy, and ensure a balanced approach between a healthy environment, and vibrant economy by supporting the ERO# 019-1020, proposed changes to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act.
Sincerely,
Concerned Ontario Tax Payer and Voter
