As a professional forester in Ontario, I believe that the crown forest in Ontario is best managed under the CFSA. Removing duplication and overlap with the ESA will yield better results for species at risk, the forest industry and all stakeholders. We still need to work on developing reasonable and workable forest management prescriptions for protecting species at risk and their habitats, and also addressing data gaps that can result in species being classified as "at risk" based on lack of data.
