This proposed amendment will reduce duplication and increase assurances that the CFSA and the manuals if followed are sufficient to meet the environmental requirements in the province of Ontario. The industry very much supports this change as it will avoid approval delays that have shut down forest operations in our Wabigoon forest as recently as last year.
Those stakeholders that are affected by forest operations are engaged through the planning process. The process has worked to foster a collaborative approach to protecting values and modifying operations to accommodate users of the forest.
