Town of Iroquois Falls Comments on Ontario's Forest Sector Strategy DRAFT
1. Forestry Access Roads - that MNR review, reconsider and reassume the divestiture of road maintenance to private interests
2. MNR and IESO support a joint Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program to a cap of 300 MW per applicant for the conversion of fossil fuel fired cogeneration plants to biomass for those applicants demonstrating utilization of the thermal energy produced
3. The Northeast Community Network (NeCN) is supporting an agricultural initiative that could involve clear cutting private land for large scale farming. Is there a way the NeCN's agricultural initiative can co-exist with MNR's Forestry Sector Strategy to "grow" the forest?
