Regarding ERO# 019-0880
Please find below my comments on the draft Ontario Forest Sector Strategy.
I am opposed to the draft.
The proposed strategy would permit double the amount of logging presently taking place in Ontario, when we know forests are essential to ensuring a healthy climate, therefore it does not protect the health of Ontarians.
The proposed Strategy does not implement limits on habitat loss to protect Ontario biodiversity and recover species at risk, therefore it does not protect Ontario's biodiversity.
Ontario must commit to a sustainable future, with a responsible and forward thinking forest sector strategy that prevents climate change, and protects biodiversity, for the sake of our present and future generations.
