Agricultural Tile Drains & Ditches
All existing drains and ditches must be Grandfathered to allow Farmers to complete repairs, unplug pipes and clean ditches without needing a permit.
We have older clay tile drains on our farm which sometimes need attention but very often a broken pipe is not noticed until the last minute – no time for permits – just have to get it done.
No, we do not have the funds to replace the tiles and are not about to take out a loan which we could never repay.
I hope you all understand that Farmers have to be given a break, all the new permits and paperwork are getting way out of hand.
We grow quality produce and none of the recent paperwork has produced any change in quality or sustainabilty --- just more time away from the job --- you have to stop this nonsence.
