We are aware of the need to process wastes for energy and compost but am skeptical regarding the location of this facility.
Firstly, we are concerned about truck traffic which will be increased on Beechgrove Drive. This street was not constructed for heavy trucks as we can hear the box of these vehicles bang loudly when they hit a bump. This will be very disturbing for people trying to sleep.
Secondly, we are worried about rodent infestation due to large amounts of food waste nearby. There is also the disgusting thought of fowl orders being emitted from this facility.
We also understand that equipment will be operating 24 hours a day which would increase the noise in this area that would be very stressful for families living in this vicinity.
In conclusion, we have lived in this lovely, quiet neighborhood for over 40 years. Just the thought of this proposal has kept us up at night wondering what will become of our beautiful community if this facility is approved.
