Proposal details
This proposal is for a new multi-media Environmental Compliance Approval (Waste Disposal Site – processing and transfer site) for 2683517 Ontario Inc.
The anaerobic digester facility is located at 633 Coronation Drive, Scarborough, Ontario and is on a 3.24 hectare area site.
The organics processing centre (OPC) will receive a combination of putrescible and non-putrescible organic residuals from source separated organics and commercial and industrial food waste materials for a total of 1240 tonnes per day. A total of 620 tonnes per day of organics will be used in the anaerobic digester system to produce renewable natural gas (RNG) for injection into the natural gas grid and digestate (organic fertilizer). The remaining organics will be exported from site daily to other anaerobic digester sites.
The maximum daily waste received is 1240 tonnes of non-hazardous waste and 1240 cubic metres of other liquid waste and the maximum on-site storage capacity is 4080 cubic metres per tonnes of other liquid waste/non-hazardous solid waste.
The service area will be the Province of Ontario. The anaerobic digester and organic processing centre operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Material will be received and exported from the site during site operational hours.
