Please be advised that I am extremely concerned about the proposed organic waste facility at the foot of Beechgrove Drive in Scarborough. While I understand and support the need for converting organic waste for other uses I certainly question why this would be located in a residential area. The resulting increased pollution from the emissions and the vast increase in truck traffic are most concerning and indeed highly inappropriate. Certainly, in a province the size of Ontario, a more befitting industrial location could be found. I am a politically engaged citizen and the outcome of this proposal will certainly inform my decisions in upcoming elections. It is high time for a paradigm shift in politics to consider the needs of people over corporations. We will be watching.
