This proposal is a terrible idea. With up to 2,500 tones of waste each day and more than 100 trucks feeding the facility daily using Beechgrove drive, our community is at risk for serious and long-standing environmental health degradation.
What’s more, our house prices will plummet as nobody is going to want to move their children into an area where the nearby schools directly north of this proposed plant will be subject to no less that’s six toxic and greenhouses gases, including NOx. CH4. C02. S02, TRS (total reduced sulphur) and particulates.
The plant looks to be bank-rolled by waste giant GFL, as we see their trucks in there all of the time. It’s clear that this is a case of corporate profits being put before the the health of the community and the environment.
I urge for both an extension to the May 24 deadline and request a public meeting to explain this project.
