I recently read an article in the Scarborough Mirror regarding the proposal for a bio-gas plant at 633 Coronation Dr in Scarborough, and I am deeply concerned that a plant of this scope and magnitude would even be considered for a quiet residential area.
Our neighborhood, comprised mostly of residential streets with numerous elementary schools, community centres, parks, and dwellings of young families with children as well as a fair representation of seniors is not at all an optimum location for high traffic of heavily loaded trucks carrying hazardous materials on a 24/7/365 basis. This is simply a recipe for disaster and I would like to voice my strong opposition to this plan.
I am also shocked that this proposal has been quietly moving forward with very little, if any notice to those who would be directly affected. That is not fair to anyone in this community, and not in the best interest of our city.
Just a bad idea overall. Please do not proceed with this plan.
