In this era of Covid, climate change and economic stress, the further destruction of 2000 acres of farmland and forest for automobile accessibility is utter madness. Put that money (which we don't have) into providing green infrastructure, alternative energy, education. Highways don't create jobs...more residential development just adds to municipal financial burdens. Streamlining the environmental assessment process ensures these issues will be ignored. Government is to look after the public interest...the environmental assessment process reminds and guides government to have regard for its mandate. Without it, government only enriches the private sector. A FULL assessment is required...not following protocols simply indicates government again is not looking after 'the common good'.
