Expediting delivery of parts of a highway before understanding the environmental impacts of said highway is backwards and will result in negative consequences to the environment and the adjacent communities. This streamlined EA appears to benefit only developers, and not Ontarians.

I am completely against the unecessary GTA west freeway for the following reasons: *urban sprawl *induced traffic *increased traffic congestion *loss of farmland *reduction of greenbelt *loss of greenspace *extremely expensive to build and maintain (waste of tax dollars) Read more

Completely disagree with reducing required environmental assessments for this highway. Process assumes highway for motorized vehicles is necessary and has benefits for its expected life, which would be the next 50-100 years. Read more

No more cementing all over the cities in GTA. Create spaces for pedestrians and cyclists, and respect Nature and promote pollinator gardens, rain gardens, native trees and plants and beautiful natural trials all over GTA. Read more

In this era of Covid, climate change and economic stress, the further destruction of 2000 acres of farmland and forest for automobile accessibility is utter madness. Put that money (which we don't have) into providing green infrastructure, alternative energy, education. Read more

This is just an attempt to say you're "reducing red tape" but in reality you're just using the pandemic as a distraction and hoping people don't notice that you're removing any sort of oversight or regulatory restrictions on development. There is nothing good here at all.

I am opposed to the proposal. The GTA West Transportation Corridor project should undergo a rigorous and complete environmental assessment process.

We believe this would be devastating to the area as they are planning to cut a path thru some very sensitive environmental areas. They will pave over thousands of acres and destroy countless acres of tress and habitat for many animals including some on the endangered list. Read more

Concerned about the impact this would have on our environment and natural areas. Also concerned as a homeowner in this area as to noise and air pollution.

Please do not alter the current environmental assessment protocol. Communities must have a say when it comes to development in the Province of Ontario. Enough of destroying our environment!

An accelerated environmental assessment is the wrong way to go. This extra highway in an area already well-served by highway infrastructure will be passing through the greenbelt - an area that is so important for the drinking water of millions of people. Read more

I find it astonishing that the provincial government and the premier can be so shortsighted to allow such a significant project with ramifications across such a large area to proceed with a streamlined process for assessing the environmental impact. Read more

I am completely against the proposed changes. Looks to me like the Govt is watering down the assessment process to make it easier to push changes through. I believe the original setup was fine. DO NOT IMPLEMENT THE PROPOSED CHANGES.

Please do not alter the current environmental assessment protocol. Extremely sensitive area which would be detrimental to those who inhabit it.
